The book was written as a tribute to my daughter, Baylie. The beach was her happy place, and where her shining light resides. The cover is a picture taken of Baylie in Miami. Her song is by the Beatles, “Here Comes the Sun.” It is a story written from the heart of a mother’s journey that resonates with many. Knowing that bad timing could choose any of us at random and that no one is immune to tragedy, there is solace in believing that life is pre-destined. In the depths of despair, there was a beacon of hope, a flash of light, and faith that we all have a purpose.

For as long as I can remember, Baylie wanted me to write a memoir of my life. That summer she decided to write it herself; this book was initiated by Baylie only months before the accident. Little did she know, it would eventually be written about her, and I was compelled to finish the story she started. It seemed as if life had been preparing me for this horrible tragedy for years. I began building emotional strength early in my life and never imagined it would be needed to carry me through my darkest days.

Two years after Baylie left us, the most unbelievable part of the story happened. It couldn’t be ignored any longer; it couldn’t be dismissed, or misunderstood. It was loud and clear, even for a skeptic like Scott. And without hesitation, we listened, and Baylie kept her promise to me.

Baylie was guiding us on a journey to understand human consciousness. She provided the proof we needed, the people who could deliver, and the evidence we had looked for.
